Darren L. Minnich, O.D.

Dr. Minnich has been in private practice since 1996. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Dr. Minnich also attended Anderson University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and business administration. He also received his certification from the National Board of Examiners for the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease in 1996. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and Indiana Optometric Association. Dr. Minnich has served as President of the North Central Optometric Society and is currently serving his second 2 year term as Trustee for the Indiana Optometric Association state board. He has served as President of the board for the Nappanee Boys & Girls Club but currently serves as a corporate board member of The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Goshen and Elkhart County. He is a member of Rotary International and has served as chairman of community service for Nappanee. Dr. Minnich has been on mission trips to Haiti, Indian reservations in Arizona, and Mexico. He enjoys most sports, including basketball, golf, & running and he has helped coached his sons' basketball and baseball teams. Dr. Minnich has also served in Student ministries at his local church. He has been married to his wife, Lisa , for over 17 years and they have three children, Tyler, Drew, and Alea.

Deb, Optometric Technician

Deb has served in the optical industry over twenty-one years. She has been employed at Nappanee Family Eyecare for ten years. She is a seasoned veteran in all areas of the office and gives exceptional service to all our patients. She enjoys spending time with her family, including her three grandchildren.

Dori, Office Manager

Dori has worked in an optometric practice for over nineteen years and specifically at Nappanee Family Eyecare since 2000. She has mastered all areas of our office and serves our patients in a very friendly attitude. Dori just took the ABO certification class and is now ABO certified. She primarily works out of the Nappanee location, but does work at Plymouth Family Eyecare occasionally. She has served as President and Treasurer of the Northern Indiana Spina Bifida Association. She has also participated in the Nappanee Leadership Academy. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and she collects Longaberger baskets & accesories.

Nici, Health Information Analyst

Nici has six years of experience working in an optometric office. She has been employed at Nappanee Family Eyecare for more than five years. She originally served as our receptionist, but is now scribing for the Doctors during the exam. She is also working with Electronic Medical Records, as we hope to soon go paperless. Nici and her husband, Nathan, have been married 5 1/2 years. They are huge Notre Dame football fans and enjoy spending time with their 3 Chows and new puppy, Bo.

Monica, Technician

Monica joined the Nappanee Family Eyecare team as an examining technician. She brings to our office a caring and positive attitude. On her time off, she enjoys spending time with her family, husband of 10 years and her 2 daughters. She enjoys attending soccer games, extra curricular activities with her daughters, and they enjoy attending Notre Dame football and soccer events.

Laurie, Office Mananger

Laurie has worked in the optometric field for over twenty four years. She is ABO certified and has mastered all areas of the office and serves our patients in a very friendly attitude. She primarily works at the Plymouth location, but does work some in our Nappanee office also. She is enjoys spending time with her granddaughter, crafts, and gardening.

Carmen, Receptionist

Carmen has been a wonderful asset to the Plymouth practice. She is devoted to making patients feel comfortable. She speaks fluent Spanish. She has 2 sons,ages 9&10 yrs old. They keep her running to sporting events year round. She enjoys spending time with family, scrapbooking.

Julie, Optometric Technician

Julie joined Nappanee Family Eyecare's staff with 9 previous years of optical experience. She brings to our office a very caring and friendly attitude. She has 3 children and enjoys spending her time off work with them. She also enjoys reading, being outdoors, and sewing.

Merri, Receptionist

Merri recently joined the Nappanee team as receptionist. She brings with her many years of experience in reception, however is newer to the area of eyecare. She brings a positive attitude and enjoys helping people. On her time off she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 boys. She also enjoys walking with her Jack Russells, cooking, spending time at the lake.

Chris, Technician

Chris has been in the medical field for 8 years though new to optometric field. She has been married for 21 years with two teenagers always keeping her busy. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, kids activities and bike riding.
